Mind~Body~Spirit Series
Preventing Burn-out with Self-Compassion (1 to 3+ hours/up to 30 participants)
In this workshop we examine various strategies to minimize and reduce the risk of “burn-out”. Common in all helping and frontline professions, yet immeasurable in terms of magnitude and impact, burn-out destroys desire and motivation, and robs people of fulfilling life experiences. Self-compassion is introduced as a personal strategy of self-care that encourages participants to re-examine the most important relationship in their life.
Taking Care of Self (1 to 3+ hours/up to 30 participants)
In this highly participatory workshop, we actively explore different approaches to self-care and personal health with the intent of raising our awareness about mind-body-spirit wellness. We look at different exercises and activities in order to energize and rejuvenate. By taking time to discover personal wellness strategies that awaken us, we explore our own self-care and compassion commitments.
Mindfulness Meditation by donation (1-3 hours)
In this experiential workshop, we examine mindfulness meditation as a strategy to enhance personal awareness and well-being. Mindfulness meditation helps create awareness of thoughts, emotions and body sensations in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. We will learn techniques that enable deeper exploration of the constantly changing states of mind and body for better overall wellness and stress management.
Emotional Support Dog Visit by donation (1 hour)
Seven year old Finnegan (cockapoo) is a natural at emotional support work, and has positively impacted the lives of many people. Bring the uplifting effects of animal therapy into your life and the lives of others by booking a mobile visit (in Greater Victoria). Finnegan formerly volunteered with Pacific Animal Therapy Service (PATS). Five year old Murphy (shepardX) is new to therapy work so still learning the ropes, but he's an enthusiastic companion.
