Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Standard for Adults - 12hrs In-Person

MHFA is a national training program that: addresses issues of mental health, mental illness and mental health problems; discusses signs and symptoms of common mental health problems and crisis situations; provides information about effective interventions and treatments; and encourages ways to access professional and other help. The Adult course is designed for anyone over 16yrs, and addresses substance related disorders, mood disorders, suicide, anxiety disorders and trauma-related concerns, and psychotic disorders.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Adults Virtual - Blended learning 2hrs Self-directed, 7hrs Virtual

MHFA Virtual is a national training program that addresses the support provided to a person who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis. Participants learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to: talk about declines in their mental well-being, discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being, reach out to these supports, assist in a mental health or substance use crisis and use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Adults who interact with Youth - 14hrs

Similar to the Standard Adult course, this workshop differs by focusing specifically on information for adults who interact with youth. In addition to substance related disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders, the Youth course also includes eating disorders and self-injury behaviour and two additional hours of training.

The Working Mind (TWM): Workplace Mental Health and Wellness - 4/8hrs In-person or 4.5/6hrs Virtual

An education-based program designed to address and promote mental health and reduce the stigma of mental illness in a workplace setting. Two courses are available: one for employees and frontline staff (4hours) and one for managers and supervisors (8 hours).
